Pakistan awards Gates the Hilal-e-Pakistan for polio work
On February 17, 2022, Pakistani President Arif Alvi conferred the Hilal-e-Pakistan — the country's second-highest civilian honor — on Bill Gates in recognition of the Gates Foundation's support for polio eradication and poverty reduction.
